Retelit signs agreement to acquire BT Enìa, an Emilia-Romagna ICT player
The Retelit Group further strengthens its infrastructure: both its fibre network - with an additional 1,400 km - and its Data Center network.
The Retelit Group, an Italian TLC operator entirely focused on the B2B market, and BT Italia, sign an agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of BT Enìa.
BT Enìa is one of the leading local ICT operators: since 1999, it has provided telecommunications services and IT solutions to businesses and the public administration in the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia and Piacenza.
With the acquisition of BT Enìa, the Retelit Group strengthens its owned fibre network in Italy - now covering more than 40,000 km - and adds the Parma Data Center to its extensive network of Data Centers that stretches from Bolzano to Bari, for a total of more than 30 Data Centers, server farms and PoPs. Retelit thus strengthens its presence in the Emilia-Romagna region (a region that plays a major role in the country due to its high concentration of businesses - particularly SMEs) and its positioning toward Enterprise and Public Administration customers.
The transaction therefore confirms Retelit's primary role among the leading Telco and ICT companies in Italy, with an offering that integrates infrastructure and digital solutions and its comprehensive coverage across Italy and, thanks to BT Enìa, with a regional focus also in Emilia-Romagna.
"I want to thank BT Italia for the valuable collaboration that has led us today to reach another significant milestone on Retelit's path of growth and consolidation. With BT Enìa, we become stronger at the regional level and closer to our customers, delivering upon our strategy of having a strong local presence and of development through integrations and investments in assets, technological platforms and expertise, that position us today as a leading telco and ICT sector operator. In recent years, thanks in part to the Asterion fund, Retelit has embarked on a new phase of expanding its offerings from a pure infrastructure company to one capable of offering a wide range of ICT services. The acquisition of BT Enìa consolidates this path based on continuous commitments to build a proprietary infrastructure, now one of the most complete in Italy" commented Jorge Álvarez, CEO of Retelit.
The agreement is subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
